Digital Evidence Handling
Electronic evidence are sensitive to heat, cold, humidity, shock, static, and magnetic fields. Use paper bags, envelopes, cardboard boxes, or antistatic containers. Avoid regular plastic bags—they generate static and can damage sensitive components.
Make sure to document and picture the process to show that the digital evidence was packaged properly, that it was fully sealed before transport and to help keep the chain of custody intact.
